Earlier this month, we gathered with supporters to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Colorado Legal Services’ founding. I would like to share with you a snippet of the remarks I made at the event.
I believe that legal aid deserves everyone’s support for a simple reason—legal aid protects core American values. Three of those values are particularly meaningful to me: safety, family, and opportunity.
Colorado Legal Services attorneys provide safety for Coloradans who have lived through domestic abuse.
Colorado Legal Services attorneys and volunteers in Pueblo protect families by offering kinship adoption to grandparents caring for their grandkids.
Colorado Legal Services’ ID Project provides opportunities by helping our unhoused neighbors recover ID documents that open the door to housing, healthcare, and jobs.
